Chiefs boys tennis splits matches in Spokane

SPOKANE - Moses Lake Chiefs boys tennis split a pair of matches in Spokane.

The first match saw the Chiefs taking on the Mead Panthers, a match they lost by a score of Chiefs 1-6.

In singles action, Ben Nye of Moses Lake was defeated by Ethan Vaughn 0-6, 2-6. Adrian Juarez fell to the Panther's Taylor Dixon while Moses Lakes' Conner Lange was beaten by Ethan Burns 4-6, 1-6. Andy Su was defeated by the Panthers' Ruan Gerbing 2-6, 4-6.

In doubles play, David Asfour and Danny Reis of Moses Lake fell to Max Giffen and Bryan Lee 4-6, 6-2. Chiefs Dominic Cacchoitti and Derek McMains defeated Anthony Samaka and David Wyrick 6-4, 7-6. Ethan Hall and Kyle Livingston of the Chiefs lost to David Whisenand and Cody Wright 1-6, 2-6.

The second match was played across town as the Lewis & Clark Tigers hosted the Chiefs with a much different result, according to coach Jon Wrigely.

Match score left Moses Lake defeating the Tigers 6 -1.

In singles play, Ben Nye of the Chiefs defeated Chris Martin 7-6,1-6,6-2. Adrian Juarez of Moses Lake beat Louis Rukavina 6-3, 6-1. The Chiefs Connor Lange beat Greg Sullivan 6-3, 6-1. Andy Su of the Chiefs prevailed over David Grunzweig 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles play saw David Asfour and Dany Reis defeated by the Tigers Joey Halstead and Colin Moravec 4-6, 5-7. Moses Lakes' Dominic Cacchiotti and Derek McMains defeated the Tigers' Blake Jones and Jason VanLueven 6-4, 7-5. Paul Asfour and Kyle Livingston beat Nick Cinton and Stephen fuller 3-6, 7-6, 7-6.
