Lady Chiefs win one, lose two

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake Chiefs girls tennis had a busy weekend, splitting three matches in two days.

On Friday, Moses Lake beat the Othello Huskies by a score of 6-1, according to girls tennis coach Jon Valencia.

In singles play, Megan Fredrick of Moses Lake defeated Othello's Scherry Luedhardt 7-5, 6-0. Chiefs Emily White beat Natelie Morgan 6-2, 6-2. Rachel Goodrich of Moses Lake won over Emily Morgan 6-1,7-6 (7-5). Chiefs Rachel Korth prevailed over Dani Vonlene 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles play, Lady Chiefs Nanako Era and Rachel Hofstetter fell to Othello's Pricila Cantu and J. Schmidt 0-6, 4-6. Moses Lake's Melissa Calder and Shari Pearson defeated C. Rawlings and J. Walker 6-4, 6-3. Chiefs Reilly Hourigan and Jessica Massart beat Othello's J. Deloatore and N. Berrerro.

Saturday had the girls on the road to Spokane to take on the Mead Panthers in a morning match. The Panther's swept the Chief's in match play 7-0, according to Valencia.

In singles Megan Fredrick of Moses Lake fell to Katrina Schwab of Mead 0-6, 0-6. Chiefs Emily White was defeated by Mead's Britta Stine 0-6, 0-6. Mose Lake's Rachel Goodrich lost to mead's Katylne Stine 0-6,1-6, and Rachel Korth of the Chief's was defeated by Alison Smith 2-6, 0-6.

Doubles play featured Nanako Era and Rachel Hofsetter defeating Mead's Annika Westre and Erica Norris 0-6, 1-6. Chief's Melissa Calder and Shari Pearson fell to Emily Sheppard and Elle Christensen 0-6, 1-6. Reilly Hourigan and Jessica Massart of the chief's beat by Heidi Stevenlla and Elise Ellingson 1-6, 1-6.

The Mose Lake girls then took on the Lewis and Clark Tigers in a match they lost 6 -1.

In single's play, had Megan Fredric of Moses Lake was defeated by Bryna Hand 3-6, 3-6, according to Valencia. Lady Chief's Emily White fell to Alix Silla 2-6, 1-6. Moses Lakes Rachel Goodrich won with a tie breaker over Anya Klyukanora 6-4, 5-7, (8-6). Rachel Korth was defeated by Huskies' Krissy Lindsay 0-6, 2-6,

In doubles action, the Chief's Nanako Era and Rachel Hofstetter were defeated by Olivia Arguinhora and Vally Moua 0-6, 0-6. Melissa Calder and Shari Pearson fell to Tigers' Collen Grarelle and Jullian Phoston 3-6, 1-6. Reilly Hourigan and Jessica Massart were beaten by Lewis and Clark's Nina Gerber and Mallory Whittaker 2-6. 0-6.
