WARDEN - Warden Cougars baseball won both games of a double-header with the Columbia Burbank Coyotes Saturday.

The Cougars dominated the Coyotes 8-4 in the first game.

Warden's Arty Reyes threw for seven innings allowing nine hits and two runs while fanning the plate for seven kills, according to Warden coach Dan Calballero. Reyes' pitching records moves to 5-1.

"Reyes did a great job controlling the game battling back through some key situations to keep them out of some big innings," Calballero stated.

Robert Pruneda went two for three times at bat with a triple and an RBI for Warden, while Drew Jesse had two hits from four times at bat, driving in 4 RBIs. Jesse Guerra managed a double and Paul Martinez batted in 2 RBIs.

The second game was Warden's as they outscored Columbia Burbank 5-4 to sweep the Coyotes and advance their record to 9-1 in league play and 31-2 for the season.

Jesse pitched for seven innings, allowing five hits and walking four batters. He ended the game with four kills. His pitching record moves to 2-0.

Five Warden players managed two hits each during the game with Martinez knocking 3 RBIs, Jesse and Pruneda bringing in one each for their team's score, according to Calballero.
