Dirks gets Bonners Ferry 2008 Junior Miss title

Michaela Dirks was named Bonners Ferry Junior Miss 2008 during Saturday’s program at Bonners Ferry High School.
She will follow in the footsteps of 2007 Junior Miss Ellen Gatchell.
Michaela, who was sponsored by Boundary County Community Theater, is the daughter of Sheryl and Kevin Dirks.
She plans to attend Washington State University and major in sports medicine and minor in dance.
Michaela also was one of two contestants to share scholarship money in the self-expression category.
As Jr. Miss, she now will compete in the state Junior Miss program Oct. 2-4 in Coeur d’ Alene.
Ashley Winkelseth, daughter of Cathi and Alan Winkelseth, was named first runner-up. Ashley also shared scholarship money in the talent, interview, fitness and self-expression categories and won the Be Your Best Self Scholarship.
Riley Boorman, daughter of Cyndy and Stephen Boorman, was named second runner-up. Riley also shared scholarship money in the scholastics category.
Molly McClintock, daughter of Kennon and Jody McClintock, was named third runner-up.
Also winning scholarship money was Patti Howard for talent, Erin Barker for scholastic and interview, Hayley Olson for fitness and Amanda Stolley for Spirit of Jr. Miss.
