GRANT COUNTY - The Grant County Fair and Columbia Basin Round-up Rodeo are back with a Cowboy Breakfast kick-off.
Breakfast is Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Sinkiuse Square off Third Avenue in Moses Lake. The event is sponsored by Moses Lake Kiwanis, Moses Lake Business Association and Columbia Basin Rodeo Association.
The cost is $5 for a breakfast of eggs, sausage, pancakes, juice and coffee, prepared by Michael's On The Lake.
Money raised from the event goes toward Moses Lake High School student scholarships through the Moses Lake Kiwanis.
"This is one of our major fund-raisers is the Cowboy Breakfast," said Kiwanis President Dean Mitchell.
The event had positive support in the past, Mitchell said. Approximately 500 people attend each year. Mitchell hopes to see at least the same number attend the event this year.
Entertainment is provided by Dale Roth Productions. Performers are Kayla Taylor at 7 a.m., John Thompson at 8 a.m., and Emily West at 8:45 a.m.
"It's a great event. It's been going on for years and we're looking forward to putting it (on) again this year," Mitchell said.
The Grant County Fair takes place Aug. 12 to Aug. 16, at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake.
