SANDPOINT — Nothing embodies summertime more than barbecuing, so its fitting that Jimmy's Bar-B-Q is choosing to open its doors for the first time in the heart of summer.
The brainchild of James Hansen, a Seattle native who's lived in Sandpoint for two years, Jimmy's Bar-B-Q will feature a vast selection of pulled pork, brisket, beer can chicken, ribs and hot wings.
Having managed a barbeque restaurant in Seattle and with years of personal experience smoking meats with his dad, Hansen feels like Jimmy's will soon be a favorite for Sandpoint locals.
Hansen describes his culinary style as a cross between deep south and Kansas City-style barbecue, mixed with a bit of Northwest flavor. Hansen cooks with hickory wood and a touch of apple chips, which gives the meat a slightly sweet taste.
Located at 418 North Third Street, suite C, Jimmy's offers dine in and take out food in a relaxed atmosphere from 11-1 a.m., seven days a week. For more information, call 265-JBBQ, or visit www.jimmys-bbq.com.
