KELOWNA, British Columbia - The Kelowna Falcons took advantage of five first inning runs to hold off the visiting Moses Lake Pirates 6-0 in a rain-shortened game Friday night at Elks Stadium in Kelowna, British Columbia.

The Falcons jumped on Moses Lake starting pitcher Tyler Anderson early, scoring all five first inning runs with two outs.

Anderson struck out second baseman Colin Walsh to start the first inning and forced shortstop Riley Henricks to ground out to record two quick outs for the Pirates.

With two outs, Falcons first baseman Brett Nicholas doubled to start the Kelowna rally.

Nicholas scored when center fielder Nick Freitas doubled to center field. Freitas stole third and right fielder John Syrnyk walked.

With two on and two out, third baseman Jeff Roth singled up the middle scoring Freitas and Syrnyk. Left fielder Wande Olabisi singled to right field to score Roth from first.

Olabisi scored when catcher Daniel Pellegrino singled to give the Falcons a 5-0 lead.

Kelowna added another run in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-0 advantage over the Pirates before umpires called the game in the bottom of the fifth inning on account of rain.

Moses Lake fell behind early and could not recover on the road as the Pirates dropped its third consecutive game.

The Pirates are winless against the Falcons this season.

Saturday night's scheduled contest between Kelowna and Moses Lake was also cancelled due to inclement weather.
