COLUMBIA BASIN - While Columbia Basin football players took to the practice fields on Wednesday, the remaining high school fall sports will begin practices on Monday.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) scheduled Aug. 25 for the start of fall sport practices, excluding football.

Washington state football players must participate in 12 practice days to be eligible for competition, while those who participate in the other fall sports are only required to participate in 10 practice days.

In addition to football, fall high school sports include volleyball, swimming, cross country and girls soccer.
