Law enforcement arrest Warden youth

WARDEN - A 16-year-old Warden male was arrested for involvement in an Othello drive-by shooting Sunday morning.

The drive-by shooting was reported in Othello Thursday night, Adams County Undersheriff John Hunt said Monday. Four juveniles ranging in age from 16 to 17 years old were involved with shooting one round from an unspecified firearm at the back of another vehicle. The back window to the victim's vehicle was broken, he said.

There were no injuries. It is unclear if the incident is gang-related but all four juveniles have prior arrest records and a history with gang involvement, Hunt said.

The sheriff's office requested the Moses Lake Tactical Response Team assist with serving a search warrant at a Road U Southeast home in Warden Sunday morning. Assistance from the team was requested because the search was a high-risk situation because they were searching for the firearm used in the shooting and because the people living in the residence have known gang affiliation and prior weapons offenses, he said.

The weapon was not located but a 16-year-old male involved with the drive-by was arrested. Hunt said the search went well without problems.

Anyone with information about the drive-by shooting incident can contact the sheriff's office at 509-488-2061.
