Suspect stole mail in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - Law enforcement is looking for a woman who reportedly stole credit cards from a mailbox near Moses Lake last Friday.

The unidentified female reportedly used credit cards stolen from a mailbox on Diamond Point Circle at the Airway Deli three times Sunday, Grant County Deputy Nic Dirks said. The cards were used at 6:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to purchase fuel, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

The clerk at the store did not request identification on the credit cards that featured a man's name, he said. The employee reported the woman to law enforcement after the credit cards were denied with her final use.

The woman who allegedly stole the mail was driving a two-toned Dodge Durango, Dirks said. The SUV is either dark blue or black with gray fender skirts.

Surveillance footage captured the woman allegedly committing a crime by using the stolen cards at the Airway Deli. One grainy image features the SUV near a fuel pump. Two other images show the suspect inside the store at the cash register.

Dirks said mail theft is quickly becoming a large issue in Grant County. He added, many people receive credit card offers in the mail and don't know someone stole them.
