OTHELLO - The Othello Huskies had three players finish in double figures, but couldn't keep up with the Central Washington Athletic Conference-leading Prosser Mustangs in the second half of a 58-42 loss on Saturday.
Othello took an early 17-14 lead and trailed by only two, 27-25, at halftime. Prosser, however, got 20 points and six assists from Cody Bruns, and 15 points and 16 rebounds from Kellen Crawford, to pull away in the third quarter.
Gabe Cantu had 11 points and seven boards for the Huskies. Roman Pruneda also scored 11, with Sam Harris chipping in 10.
Othello will step outside the CWAC on Tuesday, hosting Connell at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday
Wahluke 61, Warden 47
MATTAWA - The Cougars fell to 0-2 in South Central Athletic Conference East Division action, giving away a halftime lead to the homestanding Warriors.
Warden led 25-21 at halftime before Wahluke surged in front with a 24-13 third-quarter run, then stymied the Cougars' offense to the tune of nine points in the fourth.
Ben Bisnett had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars, while Kevin Whitaker added 12 points. Wahluke's Juan De La Garza led all scorers with 20 points.
Warden tries to rebound on Tuesday when it hosts division rival Royal at 7:30 p.m.
Entiat 58, Moses Lake Christian 51
MOSES LAKE - The Lions struggled offensively, shooting just 33 percent from the floor, and dropped their first North Central League contest of the year to the visiting Tigers.
Moses Lake Christian trailed 29-23 at halftime before chipping into the lead a bit in the third period. But Adrian Moffet was the only Lion to do any serious damage on the scoreboard - the junior guard pasted the Tigers for 29 points and five 3-pointers. He was the only Lion in double figures.
Meanwhile, Entiat got 17 points from Jacob Andersen and 15 from Kevin Arnold, shot 49 percent from the field, and earned a 32-25 edge in rebounding.
Moses Lake Christian hosts Columbia Basin Alternative on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in a non-league game.
Reardan 74, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 39
REARDAN - The Warriors struggled on both ends of the court as the Indians whitewashed them in a Northeast League contest.
ACH (2-8 overall, 1-5 league) got 14 points from Garrett Jess in the loss, and Kyle Tucker added seven. Reardan led 35-19 at halftime and 54-26 after three quarters.
The Warriors host league rival Valley Christian on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Friday
River View 86, Royal 39
FINLEY - The Panthers grabbed an early 19-4 lead and blew out the visiting Knights in SCAC East Division action.
River View had three players in double figures, paced by 24 points from Levi Davis. Michael Hebdon had 17 points to lead the Knights.
Royal travels to division rival Warden on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
