David F. York passed away Dec. 5, 2007.

He served in the U.S. Navy, received an honorable discharge and worked for the Spokane County Sheriff's Department before working for the Washington State Patrol for 27 years.

After retiring from the Washington State Patrol, he worked with the Forest Service in Montana for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Helen; daughters Deanna Wiley and Teresa York, both of Spokane; and his grandchildren, Eric, Nick and Luke Wiley, and Grace York; sisters, Vivian Irons, Karis Taylor, Neva Rogers, and Barbara Grilley.

He was preceded in death by his brother Stanley York. Services were held Dec. 16 in Spokane.
