A candle started a fire Saturday afternoon on a kitchen counter in an unoccupied home on Middle Road, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office said. Deputy Sam Cox arrived before the Creston Fire Department did, kicked down two doors to get into the kitchen and put out the fire with water.
A 62-year-old woman was found dead at about 8 a.m. Sunday in an office on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. Additional details were not available Sunday.
A credit card was stolen Sunday afternoon at Shopko.
