MOSES LAKE - After completing a successful district tournament with a third place finish, the 14U Moses Lake Babe Ruth team is advancing to the state tournament in Mount Vernon.

While finishing districts with a 2-2 record, coach J.R. Snider is impressed with his team's efforts this season.

"The more we play the better we are getting," he said.

The 14U state tournament begins July 16, and Snider said his team is working toward a strong showing at the tournament.

"We have a couple of weeks prior to the state tournament, so we are putting in a lot of practice time and refining where we can," he said.

League president Phil Signorelli said the 14U team is dedicated to representing Moses Lake.

"They have worked hard for the past couple weeks in order to be prepared to face the tough competition they will face at state."

Snider said he is optimistic about his team's chances at the state tournament.

"I think we have a good shot at state," he said.
