Suspects reportedly followed victims to business

MOSES LAKE - Two women reportedly assaulted a male and female outside of a business on West Broadway Avenue due to a traffic dispute Sunday afternoon.

Santa-Mary H. Delacruz, 42, Moses Lake, and a 17-year-old Moses Lake female were cited for assault in the fourth degree. The two suspects are a mother and her daughter, Police Capt. Dave Ruffin said Monday.

A 21-year-old Moses Lake male and an 18-year-old female were reportedly traveling near Peninsula Drive, according to police records. They stopped their vehicle in the roadway impeding the suspects from making a left turn.

A verbal dispute ensued between the drivers and passengers, police reported.

The victims drove to a sandwich shop on West Broadway Avenue where they purchased food. When the victims walked outside of the business, the suspects were reportedly waiting for them in the parking lot.

Delacruz reportedly slapped a beverage out of the male's hand and began assaulting the female by punching and kicking her. She reportedly ripped out a "handful" of the victim's hair.

Delacruz reportedly continued assaulting the male and female back and forth, police reported.

The 17-year-old female reportedly spat on the female's face while she was on the ground.

The suspects fled the scene prior to an officer's arrival and were later located and cited.

The female victim declined medical attention.
