Local cowboys are gearing up to compete in this year’s rodeo.
Bonners Ferry’s annual Kootenai River Rodeo will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, and Saturday, June 28, at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.
Professional cowboys will be competing, and bulls that appear on television are expected at this year’s rodeo in Bonners Ferry, according to saddle club member Barb Robertson.
“We have high hopes in bringing big cowboys,” she said.
A parade will be held at noon Saturday through downtown streets of Bonners Ferry. Line-up will start at 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds.
“We welcome anyone to come join us,” said Robertson. “The more people we can get in the parade, the better it is.”
A beer garden will be at the rodeo both nights and a dance will be held on Saturday after the rodeo.
“We greatly appreciate the support we received from business and community members, without whom this would not be possible,” said Robertson.
