Shirley A. Samson, 77, passed away on Saturday March 8, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. Shirley was born July 5, 1930, in Pierre, S.D., to Edmond and Mary Rayburn LeVasseur. She was raised in Waitsburg, Wash., where she attended schools.

Shirley married Fred Samson on Nov. 18, 1964, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

She enjoyed hunting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and cooking.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lewandowski, and her father Edmond LeVasseur; and two brothers, Richard and Donnie LeVasseur.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Fred C. Samson; children, Chuck and wife, Gail, Jaeger, of Oak Harbor, Wash., Dan Jaeger of Rollins, Rick and wife, Karen, Jaeger of Othello, Wash., Connie Fay Tucker of Sweet Home, Ore., Jim and wife, Lora, Jaeger of North Port, Fla., Fred and wife, Jenny, Samson of Sweet Home, Radine and husband, Rocky, Shanks of Frederica, Del., Ed and wife, Leanor, Jaeger of Elmo, Cathy Walker of Sweet Home, Allen and wife, Kathy, Samson of Columbia Falls, Rob and wife, Cindy, Samson of Newport, Wash., and David Samson of Sweet Home; four brothers, Rollie LeVasseur, Larry LeVasseur, David LeVasseur and Ted Lewandowski; 54 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am. on Wednesday, March 12, at Buffalo Full Funeral Home. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
