Wine tasting added to event Saturday

SOAP LAKE - The Soap Lake Chamber of Commerce director hopes for business involvement and sponsor support at the annual banquet this weekend.

"We have 100 tickets for sale," Director Kelley Skotland said. "It would be nice to see 75 or 80 people there."

The chamber's banquet begins with cocktails and wine tasting at 5:30 p.m., Saturday in the banquet room at Don's Restaurant, located at 14 Canna St. N.

Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., with an auction to follow.

"This is an annual thing," Skotland said. "We're adding wine tasting to it this year."

Cost is $20 per person. The meal includes top sirloin or Copper River salmon.

"The big auction items are five Mariners tickets and a night at the Embassy in Seattle," Skotland said.

Other big items include a night in the Jacuzzi suite at the Notaras Lodge with dinner and a massage, a year's worth of car washes at the Daisy Street Car Wash, an overstuffed chair from Van's Coffee and many other items from several local businesses.

For more information, call Skotland at 509-230-8098.
