Chiefs, Pirates split doubleheader

MOSES LAKE - The Davis Pirates visited Larson Playfield to take on the Moses Lake Chiefs in a varsity baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Chiefs defeated the Pirates in the first game 4-3, scoring 4 runs on 10 hits with only one error. Davis scored 3 runs on 12 hits with no errors.
At the plate, Moses Lake sluggers Jacob Lacelle went three for three, Blaine Myers hit two for two and one RBI, and Kyle Hickman went 2 for 3 with 2 runs batted in.
The Chiefs starting pitcher Drew Martin was replaced in the sixth inning by Blaine Myers followed by Jacob Lacelle.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Davis rallied in the late innings to defeat the Chiefs by a score of 4-3. Davis scored 4 runs on seven hits with no errors, while Moses Lake scored 3 runs on five hits with no errors.
Starting pitcher for the Chiefs was Troy Stephens with Brock Lybbert and Jacob Lacelle in relief. Chiefs batters Blaine Myers slugged 3-4 and one RBI, Jacob Lacelle 1-3, Troy Stephens 1-3 with a run batted in, and Dylan Signorelli went 1-3 at the plate.
The Moses Lake Chiefs next take on the Southridge Suns on Friday in Kennewick.
