A rollover crash on Highway 2 near the Montana line on April 30 took the life of Bonners Ferry resident Tina Lynn Carson and left the driver hospitalized.
Carson, 38, who died from blunt force trauma, was a passenger in a compact car driven by Michael James Degroff, 28, of Rathdrum.
Degroff was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. He remains in serious condition.
A second passenger, Patrick R. John, 31, of Bonners Ferry, was taken to Boundary Community Hospital. He broke his collarbone and was treated and released.
State police said Degroff lost control on a sweeping eastbound curve. The 1995 Saturn crossed the center line and rolled. All occupants were thrown.
Degroff was not wearing a seat belt, the ISP release said. The release did not specify if the other occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation.
