MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Pirates will kick off their 2008 baseball season under the helm of new head coach Trevor Brown on June 6.

Brown was recruited from Oklahoma State University to replace Gabe Boruff who "got his dream job at WSU," Pirates owner Brent Kirwan said.

"We will miss him and wish him well," Kirwan added.

The new season brings with it the need for host families for the collegiate players who will represent Moses Lake as they hone their baseball skills on the way to the big league.

Seven host families are needed. Hosts can be "single, empty nesters or big families," Kirwan said. The players simply need a room, access to laundry facilities and an "occasional" meal. The ball players just need "some place to call home" for the season.

The season, which runs from June through August, includes 21 away games.

For a complete schedule visit at www.mlpirates.com.

Families who host ball players receive season tickets and other exclusive benefits. For more information on becoming a host family, call 509-764-8200 or e-mail coach Kirwan at bkirwan@mlpirates.com.
