General election ballots due today

COLUMBIA BASIN - In order for general election ballots to be tabulated, all ballots must be postmarked by today.

Grant County ballots can be dropped off at the Grant County Courthouse by 8 p.m. to be counted for the election. The courthouse is located at 35 C St. N.W. in Ephrata.

Adams County ballots can be dropped off at the Adams County Auditor's Office at 210 W. Broadway Ave., in Ritzville, or at the Adams County Public Services building located at 425 E. Main St. in Othello, by 8 p.m.

As of Monday afternoon, 20,942 Grant County ballots were collected and 3,520 Adams County ballots were collected.

There are several offices up for election at the national, state and county levels this election.

The office at the national level is the president and vice-president positions.

At the state level, voters can choose candidates in offices including the governor, congress, lt. governor, secretary of state, state treasurer, state auditor, attorney general, commissioner of public lands, superintendent of public instruction, insurance representatives and state representatives.

At the county level voters can elect officials to offices including the Grant County Public Utility District and the Grant County commissioners.
