KITTITAS - The Moses Lake Christian Lady Lions dominated the Pateros Nannies Tuesday night to advance at the North Central Washington 1B volleyball district tournament in Kittitas.

The Lady Lions won 25-14, 25-15 and 25-16 to sweep the Nannies.

Moses Lake Christian senior and North Central Washington league player of the year Esther Timofeyev led the Lady Lions attack with 22 kills and sophomore Melissa Verhage added five kills.

Senior Kaylee Firouzi led the Lady Lions with 25 assists and sophomore Kristina Firouzi had seven digs.

The Moses Lake Christian Academy faces league rival Wilson Creek Saturday afternoon for the district championship.

The winner of Saturday's match will automatically qualify for the state championship tournament. The losing team will drop into the loser's bracket and must battle their way to qualify for the state tournament.

The Moses Lake Christian team is the 2008 North Central Washington 1B league volleyball champions and placed fourth last year at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association's 1B state volleyball tournament.
