Move closer to state qualification
KITTITAS - The Wilson Creek Devils volleyball team swept the Thorp Tigers Tuesday night at the North Central Washington 1B district volleyball tournament in Kittitas.
Wilson Creek won 25-20, 25-14 and 25-18 to distance themselves from the Tigers.
Junior Ksenje Fredere led the Wilson Creek attack with 14 kills and Holly Wilson added nine kills.
Jackie Treat led the Devils with 27 assists and Kelsey Campbell led Wilson Creek with eight aces.
After the match Wilson Creek head coach Mike Ottis said he was impressed with Campbell's serving performance.
"Kelsey had an unbelievable night at the serving line," he said. "Her serves came at a very good time for us."
With the win Wilson Creek moves into the championship match Saturday against league rival Moses Lake Christian.
The league foes will play a five-game match with the winning team qualifying for the state tournament. The losing team in Saturday's championship must play through the loser's bracket to qualify for the state tournament.
