OTHELLO - The Othello Wrestling Club will host an open tournament this Saturday at Othello High School.

The tournament is a collegiate-style tournament and is open for both boys and girls ages 3 to 14 years old.

Weigh-ins and registration for interested participants will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday morning and conclude at 9:30 a.m.

Othello Wrestling coach Ruben Martinez said it is an opportunity for children to get on the wrestling mat.

"(The tournament) is for experience," he said. "There is not a lot of pressure. It's to get the kids excited for the season."

Registration cost for the tournament is $10 and wrestling will begin at 10:30 a.m. and Martinez said the event will conclude by 2 p.m.

The tournament will help benefit the participants, Martinez said.

"It's a fun atmosphere," he said. "The parents can get right down to the mat and the (participants) will get a few matches."

For more information contact Martinez at 509-331-8898.
