ODESSA - The Odessa Tigers clawed their way to an early lead over visiting Touchet and held off a second-half rally by the Indians to earn a 36-30 victory and advance to the 1B Washington Interscholastic Activities Association football playoffs.

Odessa quarterback Ryan King threw three touchdown passes, two to Aaron Bruya as the Tigers advanced.

The Tigers built a 6-0 lead when King hit Easton Crossley with a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Touchet was unable to respond on the following possession and Odessa continued to distance themselves with a 14-0 lead following a 1-yard touchdown run from Alex Null.

The Indians were able to get on the scoreboard in the second quarter when Taylor Gregg scored on an 86-yard run.

Odessa would respond to the Touchet touchdown with 22 unanswered points in the second quarter to close out the half.

The Tigers built a 36-6 halftime lead with a second touchdown run from Null and two touchdown passes from King to Bruya as Odessa looked to advance to the playoffs.

The Touchet defense would hold strong in the second half, shutting out the Tigers.

The Indians scored 24 points in the second half to pull within six points at 36-30.

With a trip to the postseason on the line, Odessa held tough and defeated the Indians to advance to the playoffs.
