WILSON CREEK - The Moses Lake Christian Academy's girls volleyball team jumped out to an early two-game lead Tuesday night and held back rallying Wilson Creek to earn the Central Washington B-League victory in five games.

The MLCA Lions jumped out to an early advantage with a 25-19 victory in game one and a 25-21 game-two win.

The Wilson Creek Devils responded in the next two games with 25-22 and 25-20 victories.

With the match tied at 2-2, Moses Lake Christian held back the Devils with a 15-13 victory in the match's deciding game.

Wilson Creek head coach Mike Ottis said both schools competed.

"It was a tight match all the way around," he said. "

Ottis said he was proud of his team's performance.

"I am real happy with the team and how they battled like they did," he said.

MLCA head coach Dean Spurbeck said he was impressed with his team's determination.

"We didn't play our best game," he said. "They learned a lot though. It was good they actually pulled it out in the end. It was good to see it happen now instead of later on in the season."

The Lions improved to 4-0 with the win, while Wilson Creek fell to 4-1.
