Lions roll past Jaguars

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Christian Academy's girls volleyball team jumped out to a two- game lead Thursday night as they defeated the visiting Easton Jaguars.

The Lions took the early lead following a 25-20 first game victory. Moses Lake Christian continued to distance themselves from Easton in the second game as the Lions took a 2-0 advantage following a 25-13 game two victory.

Moses Lake Christian's attack slowed in the third game as the Jaguars earned the victory in with a 25-23 decision.

The Lions rebounded and defeated the Jaguars 25-13 in the fourth game to earn the victory over Easton.

Moses Lake Christian's Esther Timofeyev led the lions with 24 kills and also added five blocks in the win.

Following the game Moses Lake Christian coach Dean Spurbeck was pleased with his team's performance.

"We got to work on some things," he said. "Some of the younger kids got to play."

The MLCA Lions host Lind-Ritzville Saturday at 11 a.m.

PENDELTON, Ore. — The Moses Lake wrestling team traveled to Pendelton, Ore. for the Bronco Round-Up wrestling tournament and closed out 2008 with a championship performance.
