Sport entering second season

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Youth Hockey Association is currently holding open registration for the second season of Moses Lake hockey.

Registration is open today and Oct. 9 at the Larson Recreation Center.

Registration is available for players 5 to 18 years old and is open to both boys and girls.

Moses Lake Youth Hockey President Lyle Stoltman said hockey is a sport available to players of all skill levels.

"Most of the kids we had last year were first-year players and some were first-year skaters," he said. "Within just one year they not only learned how to skate, but the older kids learned the game of hockey."

The hockey league provides a learning environment for all interested players, Stoltman said.

"We welcome those players back, but still want skaters of all levels and all ages," he said. "We would really like to see the younger group grow and give hockey a try."

The Moses Lake Youth Hockey Association will hold a Hockey-Swap and Buy event in October.

The event will give hockey players an opportunity to buy used or new equipment. The association will also be taking orders for new equipment for participating players.
