Wilson Creek overcomes road troubles in Easton

EASTON - The Wilson Creek girls volleyball team and head coach Mike Ottis did something Thursday night that has proved difficult in recent years.

They beat the Easton Jaguars on the road.

"As good as my teams have been in the past, we haven't played well in that gym," Ottis said. "We broke that spell tonight."

The Devils swept the Jaguars with scores of 25-8, 25-11 and 25-21 to earn the match victory.

For the first two games of the match, Ottis said he was impressed with his team's execution.

"During those first two games," he said. "The girls looked as sharp as they have looked."

Ksenje Fredere led Wilson Creek with 13 kills and Brynna Stevens added six kills and led the Devils with seven aces.

Jackie Treat added 25 assists for the victorious Devils.

Wilson Creek played solidly to earn the win, Ottis said.

"We played well defensively and our serving percentage was up tonight," he said. "I shuffled the lineup during that third game."
