Specialist made suggestions

MOSES LAKE - A criminal profiler from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) made recommendations on the investigation of two August pipe bomb murders in Moses Lake.

The profiler reviewed documents and police records related to the incidents to provide a perspective about what type of person could have been responsible for both Moses Lake men's murders, Grant County Undersheriff John Turley said.

The profiler reviews patterns and analyzes the psyche of the crime to narrow possible suspects, he said. The profiler recommended areas for detectives to concentrate their efforts.

A link between the two deaths has yet to be established and investigators are still waiting on lab results concerning the bombs, Turley said.

The sheriff's office continues to work collectively with the ATF, Washington State Patrol Criminal Investigation Division and the FBI.

On Aug. 2, William Arleigh Walker, 69, Moses Lake, died from an explosion in a workshop at his home in eastern Moses Lake. The explosion was caused by a pipe bomb and ruled a homicide.

On Aug. 3, Javier Martinez Adame, 53, Moses Lake, died from a pipe bomb in his kitchen just outside the northern boundary of Moses Lake along Stratford Road.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
