Moses Lake earns third win of season

SUNNYSIDE - The Moses Lake girls volleyball team earned another league victory Tuesday night when they knocked off the Sunnyside Grizzlies in three games.

The Chiefs traveled to Sunnyside and swept the Grizzlies 25-21, 25-18 and 25-19 to earn their third league victory of the season.

With the win Moses Lake improved to 3-6 in Columbia Basin Big-Nine action and 3-6 overall. The Chiefs sit in 10th place in the league standings and are six games behind league leading Kamiakin.

The Grizzlies fell to 0-6 in Big-Nine play and 0-7 overall.

Moses Lake senior Iesha Garza led the Chiefs attack with nine kills and also supplied 11 digs in the winning effort.

Sophomore Markie Fancher provided 22 assists for the Chiefs and senior Heidi Smith led a strong defensive effort with 20 digs.

The Chiefs return to action tonight when they host the visiting Richland Bombers at Moses Lake High School.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
