THORP - The Wilson Creek Devils traveled to Thorp to take on the Tigers Thursday night and earned the North Central Washington 1B conference victory.
Wilson Creek earned the first game victory 25-23 and dominated the second game 25-18.
The Tigers would not be denied as they jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the third game before the Devils rallied to take the game 31-29 and the match 3-0.
While the Devils came home with the victory, head coach Mike Ottis said his team needs to play consistently.
"They played OK," he said. "I wanted to see three solid games."
Ksenje Fredere led the Devils with 13 kills and also had three aces. Paige Dennis led Wilson Creek at the service line with four aces and Holly Wilson had six kills and six blocks.
After the match, Ottis said he was impressed with Wilson's performance.
"She was just all over the place," he said.
Wilson Creek played to Ottis' expectations in the second game and he wants to see his team perform solidly for an entire match.
"We should continue the momentum from the second game and we just aren't doing that," he said. "But it is always nice to leave Thorp with a win."
