Seven people treated at Quincy hospital

ROYAL CITY - Roberto B. Ramirez, 45, Quincy, died Sunday after involvement in a two-vehicle collision near state Route 243, 15 miles west of Royal City.

William F. Devleming, 18, Mercer Island, Wash., was traveling eastbound on state Route 26 in a 2006 Ford Mustang, the Washington State Patrol reported Monday. Ramirez was reportedly stopped at the intersection at SR 26 and SR 243 in a 1998 Plymouth Breeze.

Ramirez attempted to make a left turn from the intersection and was reportedly struck by Devleming, the state patrol reported.

Ramirez was pronounced dead at Quincy Valley Hospital two hours after the collision.

Devleming was transported to Quincy Valley Hospital for possible injuries.

A 5-year-old Quincy female and a 9-year-old Quincy female were passengers in the Plymouth Breeze and were taken to Quincy Valley Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

Ramona Ramirez, 33, Quincy, was a passenger in the Plymouth Breeze and was transported to Quincy Valley Hospital for possible injuries.

Nguyen Long, 19, Pullman, Wash., Lisa L. Jones, 18, Issaquah, Wash., Nikolai D. Nakon, 18, Seattle, were passengers in the Ford Mustang and transported to Quincy Valley Hospital for treatment for possible injuries.

The cause of the collision was allegedly due to Devleming speeding too fast and due to Roberto Ramirez failing to yield the right of way, according to the state patrol.

Charges are not yet determined due to the pending investigation.
