EPHRATA - The Ephrata Lady Tigers hosted the Othello Lady Huskies in Central Washington Athletic Conference 2A volleyball action Tuesday night.

The Lady Huskies, who haven't played a match in a week, swept the Lady Tigers in three straight games.

Othello won 25-13, 25-23 and 25-10.

The first game of the match was a serving battle which had both teams alternating scoring through the first nine points as the teams played to a 9-9 tie.

The Lady Huskies got hot and rattled off nine straight points before the Tigers could get a handle on the ball, stopping the Othello rally.

Ephrata could not recover from the deficit as Othello went on to win the match 25-13.

Othello continued to build momentum in game two when they jumped out to an early 10-3 lead.

The Lady Tigers would not be denied early as Ephrata closed the deficit to three points.

Ephrata could not maintain their momentum before the Huskies rallied and held off Ephrata for the 25-23 victory.

In the third game the Lady Huskies devoured the Lady Tigers for a 25-10 win.

Following Othello's week-long break, head coach Steve Parris was unsure of how his team would respond.

"They played better than I expected," he said. "We haven't played a game in a week due to homecoming activities."

Allison Walker led the Lady Huskies with 16 Kills and Kylee Mollotte added 11 kills in the win.

Justine Villarreal led Othello with eight aces from the service line.
