Selah sweeps Othello

EAST WENATCHEE - The Moses Lake Chiefs volleyball team could not recover from Tuesday night's loss as they fell on the road Thursday night to the Eastmont Wildcats.

The Chiefs fell to the hometown Wildcats in four games Thursday night.

Eastmont won the first two games 25-17 and 25-16.

Moses Lake would not be denied in the third game as they ran out to a 25-16 victory of their own.

The Wildcats would respond and knock off the Chiefs 25-10 in the fourth and final game to earn the Columbia Basin Big-9 victory.

Moses Lake senior Shelby Gonzales led the Chiefs attack with 14 kills. Gonzales also had 13 digs for Moses Lake.

Sophomore Kaydren Dunkin had eight kills and led the Moses Lake defense with five blocks.

Markie Fancher had 31 assists in the losing effort and Heidi Smith had 16 digs for Moses Lake.

The Chiefs return to action Tuesday night as they travel to Kamiakin to take on the Braves.

Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Othello 0

OTHELLO - The Othello Lady Huskies volleyball team could not hold off the visiting Selah Vikings Thursday night.

The Vikings capitalized on a 25-4 victory in game one to earn the Central Washington Athletic Conference 2A victory.

Selah won game two 25-16 and game three 25-17.

Allison Walker led the Lady Huskies with 10 digs, seven kills and three blocks. Kylee Mollotte finished the night with two blocks and four kills. Justine Villarreal led the Othello attack with 15 assists in the losing effort.
