Accused of not delivering on Internet sales

EPHRATA - A Moses Lake man is facing theft charges after failing to deliver baseball cards he was selling online.

Raymond Ersie Jensen, 31, pleaded not guilty to theft in the first degree in two cases, according to Grant County Superior Court records.

Grant County Superior Court Judge Kenneth Jorgensen set bail at $10,000 on Friday for the latest case.

In the newest case, Jensen allegedly listed three baseball cards, a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle, a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth and a 1952 Mickey Mantle, on the craigslist.org Web site, according to court records.

Elizabeth Jones of Tazewell, Va., reportedly contacted Jensen and sent him a check for $4,500 for the three cards, according to court records. Jensen allegedly deposited the check, but Jones never received the cards.

During the next few weeks, Jones

allegedly e-mailed and called Jensen several times to ask about the status of the cards, according to court records. On Aug. 20, Jensen reportedly called Jones to tell her the cards had been returned in the mail.

Then Jones contacted police in Tazewell, Va., who forwarded the report to the Moses Lake Police Department. When police contacted Jensen, he reportedly told them he didn't own the cards, according to court records.

These charges follow another case where Jensen allegedly sent fake cards to Gary Leavitt in Arizona, according to court records. Leavitt reportedly sent $8,500 to Jensen for real cards, but never received them.

If convicted, Jensen faces a sentence of 10 years for each charge and a $20,000 fine.
