OTHELLO - The Othello Lady Huskies capitalized on the play of senior Allison Walker Thursday night as Othello knocked off the visiting Quincy Lady Jacks on senior night.

Walker led the Lady Huskies with nine digs and two blocks at the net Thursday night. Walker also added nine kills.

Othello raced out to a 25-16 victory in game one and never looked back as they swept the Lady Jacks in three games.

The Lady Huskies won game two 25-15 and 25-10 in game three to earn the Central Washington Athletic conference victory.

Walker said the win was the right way for the Othello Huskies to wrap up senior night.

"It was import for me," she said. "It was the last home game for me because I am leaving. It's sad but it's been fun. I love the girls I get to play with."

Othello has one final home match this Saturday, but Othello head coach Steve Parris said the senior night win was important.

"It's a good way for the seniors to go out," he said. "We still have another home match Saturday. Tonight was not as emotional as it could have been. My seniors are fantastic."

Parris said his team got off to a slow start because it was senior night.

"The first game I played the seniors and we had a different line up," he said. "It's always important to get a win."

While his team came away with the victory, Parris said his team could have played better.

"We played okay," he said. "We had better communication between the setter and the hitters in the third game."

Othello senior Justine Villarreal led the Lady Huskies with seven aces and 23 assists

Junior Kylee Mollotte led Othello with 11 kills and also had seven digs and two blocks

Despite the sweep by Othello, Quincy head coach Jeanne Brindle said she was proud of her team's play.

"We did really well considering two starters had injuries," she said. "I was pleased with their play considering the changes we made. They played a good game and held their heads up. They didn't shut down, they didn't stop."

Kayla Horning had eight digs and Samantha Reynolds led Quincy with 11 digs.
