MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Chiefs will kick off the 2008 Washington state high school football season Thursday night when they travel to Hanford to face the Falcons.
Moses Lake head coach Greg Kittrell said he is proud of the effort his players have put in this offseason to prepare for upcoming season.
"We had a great fall camp." he said. "They have been on time, worked hard, been positive, done everything we've asked them, shown great courage and I think that is going to transfer onto the field."
Kittrell said it feels different not to open the season on a Friday night but his team is prepared for the challenge.
"You worry a little bit about playing on an odd day like Thursday, but I think they will be ready to play," he said.
The 2008 football season will be exciting and Kittrell said he looks forward to seeing it develop.
"We got so many things to look forward to here at Moses Lake," he said. "Not only a good football team, but a great place to play. It's hard not to be excited with those kind of things going on."
