WARDEN - Along with a nine team volleyball tournament and the fifth annual Great Lind-Coulee Raft Race, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament was added to the festivities of this year's Warden Community Days celebration over Labor Day weekend.

The tournament drew 10 teams from the Columbia Basin to participate in a round-robin tournament to determine who would play in the championship game on Labor Day.

Tournament play was intense and drew a diverse group of players, tournament director Wes Richins said.

"A lot of kids played," Richins said. "Kids not normally going out for basketball."

The two finals teams played in front of a large crowd and spectators lined the court's perimeter to watch the Dawgs take on the Cougs for the championship.

The Dawgs defeated the Cougs 31-22 to claim the tournament's top spot.
