WARDEN - Nine volleyball teams from the Columbia Basin ventured to Warden for the Wardens Community Days volleyball tournament.

The teams were divided into three groups and teams participated in pool play for seeding into a double-elimination bracket.

The Labor Day tournament helped raise more than $700 for the Warden High School volleyball program, volleyball tournament director Jeff Kottong said.

Teams from Warden, Royal City and Moses Lake participated in the tournament. The Pounders of Moses Lake won the tournament.

Kottong said the event was a success and hopes the tournament will return next year.

"We had a good time," he said.
