Destruction of creek should be criminal

Sand Creek is not a "mud hole." At this very moment, anyone looking down Sand Creek toward the south from the "Y" at highways 95 and 200 can clearly see the beauty of this, a part of our community, beautiful creek. The byway or bypass or whatever you want to call it, will destroy one of nature's truly beautiful and useful Sandpoint areas.

People utilizing the Healing Garden by Bonner General Hospital, know the beauty and peacefulness of Sand Creek, the tranquility and calming effect its waters have on each of us. Not only is Sand Creek utilized by visitors to the Healing Garden, but it is a gathering place for various migrating waterfowl, including Hooded Merganzers, Common Merganzers, Canada Geese, Barrows Goldeneye, and many others.

The destruction of this wonderful amenity of Sandpoint is a crime. I am not affiliated with NICAN or Idaho Transportation Department, I just happen to enjoy the natural beauty our area has to offer.

Sand Creek is not a mud hole. Open your eyes.
