A man suspected of raping a 13-year-old girl remains at large.

A $200,000 warrant with a nationwide extradition has been posted in hopes of catching Gary Lies Jr., 35 of Moyie Springs.

Lies was turned in by the victim's family on Sept. 1 for allegedly raping her the day before, according to Boundary County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Rich Stephens.

Once officials determined Lies' identity, he fled the state and is believed to be in Portland, Ore.

“He floats around a lot with previous residences in Washington and Oregon,” said Stephens. “He has criminal history in involving alcohol, thefts and batteries, but nothing sexual.”

He will be charged with rape and lewd conduct with a minor under 16.

There may be multiple incidents with the victim, according to Stephens, but Lies is charged with one for now.
