Huskies win three straight at home
OTHELLO - The Othello Huskies volleyball team took advantage of its senior leadership Tuesday night to defeat the visiting Ephrata Tigers.
The Huskies swept the Tigers in three games 25-13, 25-21 and 25-14 to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Othello coach Steve Parris said his team played its type of game in the victory.
"We ran our offense fairly well tonight," he said. "We stayed focused."
The Huskies were led by senior Allison Walker who led Othello with five aces, three blocks, 14 kills and 10 digs in the winning effort.
Walker was impressive Tuesday night, Parris said.
"Allison Walker had a big night," he said.
On the shoulders of its seniors, Parris said his team took advantage of Othello's experience.
"Ephrata is a young team," Parris said. "We were able to take advantage of their mistakes."
While the Huskies are 1-0 in league play this season, Parris said his team must improve throughout the year.
"We've got another gear we have to get to," he said. "It's a big step for us."
