BURBANK - The Warden defense could not stop running back Seth Shelton and Columbia-Burbank as the Cougars dropped their South Central Athletic Conference game 26-3 Friday night.
Following the loss head coach Erik Skone said his defense improved following last week's loss.
"Defensively we played OK," he said. "We tackled a lot better."
Columbia-Burbank's Shelton rushed for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns as Columbia-Burbank distanced themselves from Warden.
Skone said his team got off to a slow start and Columbia-Burbank capitalized.
"We started off slow and they took advantage of us," he said. "We couldn't stop their rushing attack."
The Warden Cougars will respond next week with Warden's first home game of the season, Skone said.
"We have to go back to it," he said. "We need to continue working on the fundamentals. Next week is our team's first home game."
