ST. IGNATIUS — Two St. Ignatius residents were arrested on April 8 after a Montana Northwest Drug Task Force raid recovered two pounds of marijuana and evidence indicating drug distribution.
Everardo Bravo, 41, is charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $20,000 and Bravo made bail last Thursday.
According to Tribal Police Narcotics Investigator Brian Fyant, 33-year-old Darlene Oliver was also arrested in the incident and released after further questioning.
No one was home at the house on Toweepah Lane on Wednesday morning when Fyant, the Lake County Sheriff’s Canine Unit and St. Ignatius Police searched the home with a search warrant in-hand and a tip that drugs were being dealt out of the home where Bravo, Oliver, and three children reside. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Buff and police canine Kilo aided in the search, with Kilo discovering two pounds of marijuana in the crawl space under the house.
Officer Fyant explained that weighing scales and unused baggies were also found at the home to lead to Bravo’s criminal distribution charges. According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Bravo was currently on probation for a May 2006 criminal possession of dangerous drugs charge in Mineral County.
The two pounds of marijuana equates to roughly $12,800 worth of drugs according to street prices, Fyant said.
The Montana Northwest Drug Task Force is a partnership of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Police, Flathead County Sheriff’s, Lake County Sheriff’s, Mineral County Sheriff’s and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Offices.
