Florence erupted for 13 runs over two innings to post a 14-3 victory over Troy in a makeup softball game on Tuesday.
The Lady Trojans led 2-1 through four innings only to see the visitors pull away late.
“In both of our first two games, we have had very good innings early but we need to work on finishing strong as well,” Troy coach Russ Armstrong said.
Troy took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second and the Trojans played sound defense with no errors through the first four innings.
Kimmy Klin went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Troy at the plate. Megan Cummings and Rachel Garcia each went 1-for-3 with Garcia collecting an RBI.
Florence improved to 5-2. Troy (0-2) was scheduled to play at Mission on Thursday and at home on Monday against Plains for a doubleheader.
