Prestegaard wins pole vault at Missoula invite

Whitefish pole vaulter Kaleb Prestegaard won his event at the Missoula County Invitational track meet on Saturday, clearing 14 feet even. The Bulldogs finished in fifth place out of 21 schools, with 50 points. They finished behind Corvallis in first place with 95 points but ahead of Glacier (44 points' and Flathead (43).

Drew Coco came in second in the 1,600 (4:30), and high jumper Colt Idol finished second with a leap of 6'2".

Seth Wiley finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles, and Whitefish finished fourth in the 1,600 relay. The Bulldogs were sixth in the 400-meter relay. Defending state champion Aaron Tkachyk ended up third in the long jump.

The Whitefish girls finished with seven points in the Bigfork invitational on Saturday. Megan Shaver finished in fourth place in the 3,200, and Torie Powell came in sixth in the long jump. She was also fifth in the triple jump.

The Bulldog tracksters head to Libby on Saturday.
