CLE ELUM, Wash. — Despite falling in the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader with Cle Elum, the Warden Cougars girls softball team rallied for a 5-1 win in game two to split with the Warriors.
The Cougars dropped the first game on the road 6-2. Warden struggled offensively in the first game Tuesday, said Warden head coach Wes Richins.
“The first game we lost because we didn’t hit the ball very well,” he said. “We saw a pitcher that kept us off balance a lot.”
After dropping game one, the Cougars took game two thanks to the solid pitching of junior Randi Wright. Wright led the Cougars with 16 combined strikeouts for Warden in the doubleheader and Cassandra Kisler went 2-for-3 at the plate with 3RBIs to help power the Warden offense.
