Michele Kramer of Bonners Ferry is opening Sequels, a consignment clothing store at 6389 Kootenai St. in downtown Bonners Ferry across from Boundary County Library parking lot.

Sequels will carry brand name and quality clothing and should be open in about two weeks.

“I got a call from a lady who has Coldwater Creek brands and she said she has a ton of stuff for the shop,” Kramer said. With the economy today I think it is good timing to have a store like this.”

The store will carry women’s and juniors’ small to plus size clothing, maternity clothes, prom dresses, jewelry, belts, bags and accessories.

Anyone wanting to place clothes on consignment should make sure they are wrinkle-free, and brought in on hangers, which will be returned. Clothing should be free of tobacco smell, clean and in good condition.  Clothes will be kept on a three-month cycle or until the season ends.

During the last month,  items that have not sold will be marked down.  People who have things that don’t sell after three months can donate them to Sequels to be donated to the Second Chance Animal Adoption’s thrift store.

For higher end items, Kramer can sell them on E-bay for a percentage.

Anyone wishing to put things on consignment will sign a contract.  Kramer would like to price items at 70 to 80 percent lower than new prices.  People with items on consignment can receive 50 percent for items sold each month.

Kramer is collecting spring and summer items now and would like to get in some more clothes and  jewelry and bags for opening.

“I really want to see how the community will embrace the idea,” said Kramer.  “I would love to eventually move to a bigger place and bring in items for men and children as well.”

For information, call Kramer at 290-7907.
